Amarillo to be Discontinued

Ford is dropping the Lariat Amarillo, to replace it with yet another version of a Harley-Davidson Super-Duty. The very last day to order the Amarillo is October 21st, but I'll bet they'll end it even sooner, so get your order in soon if you want one.

The 2006 H-D will be a 6.0, 4x4 crew-cab only, and marks the first time a 150 and Super-Duty Harley will be available in the same model year.

Guess that I will have to buy one of the 40 or 50 leftover 2005s that are within about 100 miles of my house.

$12k off MSRP, last that I saw. Probably still get that deal and a big kiss if I bought one.

OK. Maybe just a Xmas card.

Any word on the color combo on the HD?

2006 Harley S/D will come in Dark Shadow Gray with black flames, Dark Toreador Red with black flames, and Black with blue flames. I'm assuming this means the flames are standard, maybe with a delete option. We'll see. BTW: "black" flames? If they're black, how can they be flames?

H'mmmmmmmmmm.

I wonder too how "flames" can be black. But no red/orange flames at all? And its supposed to be a Harley?

My guess is that the HD SD truck is sold to the same demographic that buy HD motorcycles, balding, graying, overweight accountants taking a last chance at being "wild" before their arteries harden up and they can no longer bend their knees. Orange/red flames are a little too ostentatious. We need to be a little more demure.

Whoa boy. Am I going to get into trouble for this post.

not all of us harley riders fit that bill. i'm not balding, not over weight, not a accountant, do have some gray though. and i can still kick start one. not push a button

Aren't they supposed to be "ghost flames", only visible at certain angles?
