Smile More power.... Chip?

I am looking for a little more power out of my 96 f250 HD 5.8l with auto. Its a OBD1 truck and thinking about getting a chip for it.
I have already got a K&N, and a Flex a lite dual fan setup.

Question is: How much is a chip going to help with towing etc.. ?

It's OBD-I? Are you sure? from 1996 on, all vehicles were OBD-II.

Anyway, just a nit to pick. Have you tried doing a search both in here and in the 351W forum? I'm sure it's been covered before.
