I like the looks of the aluminium boards. They're a bit harder to keep up with, but when polished, look great.

I think these are nicest by far:

- The Classic or Tapered are both my favorites.

I also think duallies look nice with tube steps:

- That is TeamRoper60's truck, from TDS. It's one HOT truck! Now just imagine that truck with the J&J boards... Mmm-mmmmm.

I had the factory tube steps on my previous Ranger and really liked them. I'm not sure how tube would look on a dually though.

I like Fiberglass boards on a dually. 4wd w/ fender flares, or 2wd w/o fender flares.. ie "pony boards"..

On the dually the wings are manditory for a full look. I have the tubes on my 03' SD (check gallery) and really like the way they look but on a dually I think a solid metal dimond plate board with the wings look the best. My dad runs a 96' dually that had none when he bought it. We first did the cab length which looked good but then added the wings and it just made it look much better and more complete. They're also real handy for getting stuff out of the back vrs the cab lengths. One last thing to consider is the tubes provide very little rocker panel protection w/ or w/out mudflaps and are very slippery in the winter because they'll get a good ice build up on them just from what the tires kick up. the full metal boards won't do this and provide much better protection but also are more prone to tearing off when ground clearance becomes an issue. What for and where are you planning on using your truck? that will give better indication of what would make the most sense unless your just going for the look; in that case differnt strokes for differnt fokes, buy what you like.

I put both the cab and box boards on my 05 crew cab dually, they look great and they were very easy to install. They used the original mounting holes for the cab boards, the only hole that had to be drilled was on the center box stiffener. They are made by Luverne Truck Equipment.

Cab boards # 549275
Box Boards # 549285

Luverne has one of the best warranties for Stainless Steel boards, Lifetime. I would strongly recomend that the rolled under edge's of the boards be rounded as I found this out the hard way during the install very sharp, a trip to the ER and six stiches to my knee proved this to be true.
