Do we know if the lower dash piece that has the cup holder and pocket on the 03-04 models is the same size as the newer models that the upfitter swich snaps into. Also my upfitter switches came yesterday and for anyone who did not understand, the harnesss to these swithes includes a box that has the relays for these switches in it.

Hopefully next week I will be able to answer your question rusty... as I have a 2005 panel coming to me sometime next week...
From what I can tell by looking at the dashes in the trucks that my work up-fits the dash panel sizes seem to be the same. The cup holder guts are the same.. but the face of the cup holder seems to be shaped different.
The dash shape overall seems to remain the same.. but they added a lip to the dash vents as they are more pertruding from the dash. I dont care for the 05 dash personally. but I do like the upfitter swithces.. and the cubby on the drives side... So I will see what will happen when I get the parts and take my truck apart...
Fun... Fun...

I designed a dash mounted computer that originally controlled my 4 position flip chip, Propane and water injection systems. This was before the uplifter came out, if I had known they were on the horizon I would have just waited and just changed my dash. However, I also ended up with extra controller spaces for up to 12 extra accessories. It fits very nicely on the dash and gives a digital readout of the on/off/standby settings on each item. It's now hooked up to my air compressor, back up lights, rear A/V system, radar detector power, an extra accessory power terminal, air bag suspension system, and bed lighting. Still 5 positions left! The unit actually controls a circuit board loaded with relays that is mounted up under the dash so everything is up and out of the way, yet easy to get to. The board can either function as the 12volt power source for each item or it can function as a normal switch and simply pass the voltage through if the accessory has it's own power hook-ups. I merely have to switch out the corresponding relay.
This is my first version of it: -Just to the right of the AC and stereo by the cig plug.

It only had 4 switches, but you could program multiple switches together to act as one, i.e. hold down two triggers a different setting.
The newest version has 6 buttons and a backlit display. I didn't get a chance to get any photos of it before the truck went into storage and I to Korea. But I used a more visible display and changed the paint to a powdercoat to slow down the visible fingerprints.
Don't take me for bragging, just letting you know there are other options out there to get a decent looking bank of switches.

1-5C3Z13D730AAA bank of On/Off switches fits into existing panel on dash no cutting or drilling required.
1-5C3Z14A303AA Complete harnes with plugs to plug right into the fuse panel, you also get all of the necessary relays and fuses installed in the block which is integrated into the harness.
1-5C3Z2513546CAA Storage bin to fill the gap left after installing switches on some applications.

i finally got the 05 panel mounted in my 03 with little difficulty and much expense. the panel was $100, the new cup holder was around $50 and the trashbag hook was (get this) $50!! Add to that the cost of the upfitter switches and harness I have around $70 bucks a switch involved. It looks good though and a got an extra glove box
