I'm getting ready to retire from the US Navy this winter and I'm looking to settle down in Mid Georgia for good with my family. Looking to find a job in Safety OSHA and/or HAZMAT management. I love the area and have family in Dublin, home of the Red Neck Games.
Working on importing my Ford Mondeo Wagon from Spain where I'm currently stationed. It's a Ford 500 in the states, but I may run into problems with the evaporator and O2 emissions sensor department. Everything else is DOT. Should be interesting to see if the costs out weight my love for the car to bring it back to the states. If I can keep it under $3000 I'll do it. I don't pay for shipping.
How is the salvage yard situation for 67-72 trucks?
Well I hope to get to know some fellow truck enthusiasts, do some very light 4 wheeling, and be social
See you (Y'all) this spring!

71 welcome to Ga. Congratulations on your retirement and good luck on finding your new job. I do not know alot about overseas transport of vehicles so unfortunately I can not make any suggestions on that. As far as the 67-72 salvage situation. I have no problem finding most parts i need for my 70 f100. Spring is a little ways off and due to salvage yards changing inventory ask again when you get here. I will let you know then which yards I know of that has them. Also once you get here hopefully we can organize a meet. You got a very nice truck.
I had been to GA last spring for a Navy school at the Athens Supply Corps. While I was in state, I did some house hunting with my sister. I saw the Warner Robins area and Dublin where she lives. I loved it! I'm originaly from Massachusetts but have spent the last 12 of 15 years overseas. If you have ever checked out the housing market up there in New England you would be shocked.
My truck has been taken hostage by the body shop and had blown past two different deadlines to finish it. One day I'll have it back, just in time to ship it off to the USA.
I'll be looking out for you guys.

Sadly our beloved Navy school here in Athens has been slated for closure. I've lived here all my life and have fond memories of going to the PX and commissary with my Grandparents.
390 get in touch with us when you get to Georgia. We get together about twice a year and would love to shake your hand for your service.
