What does the FX4 package consist of?

Last night I finally found the truck I've been looking for, a 2004 F350 4X4 Lariat FX4 Crew Cab, Long Bed.

Anyhow, It's got the FX4 decals on the bed and I'm trying to figure out exactly what the FX4 consists of. So far, I think I found out that it is shocks and skid plates. Is that all it is ?

I would greatly appreciate anyone who could help me clear this up! Thanks.

Yup. And a sticker.

I peeled my stickers off and put on a lift kit(thereby replacing shocks), so all I'm left with are the skid plates.

I researched a little more and found out it's Rancho Shocks and Steering Damper and Skid Plates... WHOO HOOO !! Guess I'll go run over some small cars or something.

You also get a steering stabilizer and forced to purchase the 'all-terrain' tires (even though those of you with 18"s don't get ATs).

Don't get too excited about those shocks. They aren't anywhere close to a real Rancho. The Ford steering stabilizer sucks too. So, after you replace them because they suck so bad, you'll be left with skid plates and the sticker.

However, it's not that costly of a package. I wouldn't go looking for another rig specifically without the package. Just get it, use up the shocks, and go spend more money on good shocks and a stabilzer.

If you like the truck get it and ditch the Rancho "branded" shocks in favor of Bilsteins. Immediate improvement.

I bought it last night. Lariat version, Leather, Sunroof, Power Rear Slider ( The slider is PIMP) and Power everything else and back up sensors. Diesel.... For $36,000 out the door. 2004 with 7400 miles on it. It Kelly Blue Booked at $41875 so I'm pretty happy with the deal. Plus this thing is cherry, looks brand new interior and exterior wise. http://www.bodyalarm.net/f350/F350.jpg

Nice truck TODD. And congrats! I got my truck with the FX4 package. To me it's worth it, to have the skid plates. Alot of people say the shocks are junk, they may be right, but rig drives pretty good. Enjoy!!!!!

I second BigDually, that is a sweet ride. But now that you have that bad boy you have to play nice with the cars, they don't know any better.

The wheels are by "Weld Racing". They're not really my style but they will do for now. The tires are some off brand I'd never heard of, and they are brand new, they still have the little rubber fuzz on the tread. Eventually, I'll do a small lift and put some 35" tires on.

Do you think one can order an FX4 package WITHOUT that decale on the rear? If not would it be hard to take off?
