I wouldn't do it,unless your engine is really dirty. If you do, stay away from the usuall places (fuse box, intake, battery, ect) and don't get anyway near the ignition coils. There's been lots of posts on here that go somthing like this: "washed engine, now truck is stalling...", but then again there's lots of folks who don't have any problems with it.

You will never have a problem done it for years on all my vehicles. and everytime I wash my 03 supercrew I rinse the engine, no problem at all!!!!,just dont spray or hold the nozzle in your alt or fuse pnl you can spray them but common sense goes a long way.

When I bought my truck, the dealer had to replace three of the coil packs because the lot boy pressure washed under the hood a bit too well. So stay away from that. I've also heard that if water gets into the spark plug wells that it can cause a misfire and eventually ruin the plug.

I just use a can of foamy Gunk, and then attach my garden hose/spray nozzle to the HOT water tap in my garage sink...it works great, and at a controllable low pressure.

Cheers, Wm.

I picked up one of the Scunci "steamers" you see on TV, the one that can steam clean ovens. It works beautifully and the water doesn't build up like it would with a hose. I use it on the 5.0 and the truck.
