Roller 351W

Hey guys, looking to replace a motor with a 351W and was wondering what years the 351 had a roller cam (if any). I have access to a 89 fuel injected and a 78 with a 4 barrel. Which would you recommend and why? the injection swap doesnt scare me as i have the donor truck and lots of time and some patience lol. TIA

Ryan

The 94 and newer 351 had roller cams(cant remember the casting #'s). If you don't plan on rebuilding I would get the one that has the best compression.

You're on to a good idea thinking about roller cams. You can retro-fit a roller cam into a 351, and any 351 can be retro-fitted.

yes you can retrofit for a roller cam but your selections are limited and if your running a speed density efi setup the cams wont work period. find the 94+ block to make life easier
