2000 van missing rear A/C control and electric sofa control

After looking in my user manual about my 2000 Jayco conversion it talks about a rear A/C fan control located overhead somewhere near the rear sofa. If mine had it, Jayco must have removed it. The driver's rear A/C fan control has a setting for the rear controls to operate the fan. Where approximately is that overhead control? I'd like to pull out the wiring and reconnect a control to it.

Also, the manual shows a control for the sofa just behind the side doors. I don't have that either. If it's there I'd like to add the control. Trying to use the control located behind the rear seat sux when your not coming thru the back doors.

The rear controls for heat/ac in my 99 are in the roof about the middle where the seats are mounted behind the driver and passenger. Now conversion vans have modified roof layouts, so the factory sitch would most likely be relocated from the roof, I'd say it's on the drivers side wall panel right beside the mid van passenger seat, right below the window.
I thought the rear bed/bench control was on the wall in the rear, passenger side, but may be on the other. Sorry, only location I know of.

I have a 96 MarkIII, and the rear fan switch is mounnted on the dash below the front fan switch. My owner's manual state's that although there is a separate heater core, the rear ac ducting robs the front system for cool air. I imagine all conversion vans, and factory rear air, are differant.

Rear AC has an evaporator in the rear for cool air, there is a T in the coolant line, sharing with the front, I don't see it as taking from the front, my ext van gets down right frigid, makes you have to cut the fans off. If the front fan switch has a setting for rear control, you have/had it, no seats are mid van in mine, so I never use the feature.

I wish they relocated it, but instead removed it. I just want to find the connection so I can put it back in. I'm guessing it's still up in the ceiling near where it was originally. I think it was one of the few dumb things that Jayco did on this conversion as it's supposed to have about all options. Kind of crazy to remove a factory option. Converters used to order cargo vans without rear air and just add their own, which is what both my 89's had/have.

I'll have to pull the overhead out somewhat. Unfortunately it goes from front to rear without a break anywhere but maybe I can pull just the rear down and see if I can see the connector.

I'll have to look in my book again but I thought it said there's supposed to be a second control in front of the sofa on the passenger side. I do have the one in the back behind the sofa.

I may just add that one. It shouldn't be too hard to run wires off of the one in the back. I already have the switch.

the fan switch up front, if it has a setting for rear control, it has the connection in the line, I'd guess it goes up the wall behind the drivers seat to make it's way into the headliner. Wish I had a pic of where mine is, but when they removed the factory headliner, they most likely pulled that wiring down, it has to be in the side panel.

Really old thread without a conclusion. Just picked up a 2000 conversion van with the same rear fan control issue. Did you ever find the control wires and get the rear fan witches working?

Thanks,
Shawn

That's odd...all the pictures I've seen so far have shown the hooks NOT working as the safety clips are not able to close all the way as designed. Maybe I missed a picture??

Leo, looks like there's differences in the same upfitter depending on use. My '94 Mark III is a handicap van with side door lift and the rear has both a heater core and evap. The fan for rear is controlled by a Ford provided switch in the heat/AC control section. No blend door. Heat is denied with a valve on the coolant line by a vacuum control.

Not liking the cruise control buttons. It could be that I'm trying to get used to them, since I was used to my 17 yr old super duty cruise control buttons. I find myself having to take my eyes off the road briefly with this new truck cruise control, where I never had to in the old truck
