f-350 v-10 gas to diesel 7.3 conversion

Hello,

I have a 2000 f-350 with the 6.8L v-10. When this engine wears out I would like to replace it with a 7.3L Powerstroke. Has anyone done this? I love the truck and would like to keep it for a long time

- just with a diesel.

First off, welcome aboard!

Secondly, if you believe you are in a hurry to own a diesel, let me say that you would be better off buying the diesel version as that truck will last a long time with the V10....

Funny....

Seriously, it be wise to study a factory manual to see the little differences between the gasser and diesel trucks. I'm guessing the tranny would have to go for the diesel version (unles the bolt pattern is the same) and possibly the dash harnes, unless the gasser truck harness has the wire for the "Wait to Start" light....
