3 speed to AOD swap in my '77

So I have been thinking about changing my 3 speed to an AOD or some other auto trans in my 77 2WD. Shes got a 300 in her and I was wondering what it would take to change it over to an auto for purposes of driving ease. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!!!!

Small block tranny non-computer controlled 300 six flex plate a starter out of an automatic (standard tranny starters use a longer snout) probably a different drive shaft you might be able to find one or have one made. Plus what ever shift linkage you are goign to use auto sterring column floor shifter etc etc.

Verification of actual Rear axel ratio is needed also, it should be no lower than 3.23:1 ideal for 300's is 3.55:1 and 235/75R15 tires.

Whit this configuration you can expect 16 to 18 MPG.

You will also need to come up with a tranny cooler either in the radiator or external or better yet both.
