I had the missfortune of hitting a guard rail the other night with my 03 f 150, besides the obvious damage to the front rim, and the noticing the the front end was knocked out of alligment. I called the area ford garage and after I told them what happend I was told that it would need tie rods control arm and a knuckle this said with out looking at the truck. my question is how would the adverage person know if the parts were bent as the garage claims and is there a plae where I could get detailed instruction on how to replace these parts if necessary thanks

a general inspection and measurements should show what part is damaged or bent. the dealer has no way of knowing, he is giving you a worst case seniero. Depending on how it hit the rial, it could be any of the above, or the upper A- frame, etc. take it to someone who knows alignment such as a tire dealer ( or Ford), put on a lift, and have them show you.
