Newbie needs advice with purchase of a 97 PSD 4X4 F-350
#32
Just an Update... I did purchase the truck! My Credit Union appraised it @ $20,810!? The owner wanted $16,500 (he was hurting for $) I got him down to $15,300. Then when I went to pick it up I showed him $14,500 cash .He reluctantly excepted, we were both pleased after though.
I love the truck! It needs the front leveling kit and some tires. With 57,000 miles hopefully it has a long life ahead!
Thanks again.

It's a good thing for SSSS that he wasn't trying to buy the truck from me as I don't believe in haggling. It degrades the buyer and insults the seller. I always ask the seller if that's their bottom line. If it is and it's too much I just walk. As a seller I start with my bottom line and it eliminates a lot of wasted time. I don't like playing money games. ....... JMHO....

I respect your opinion but when he first said he'd take $15,300, I never agreed to that price. A week went buy, I was waiting for the closing on my new house before I took out the loan. $$ was now a little tighter since the home purchase so I could only afford a price under $15,000. So I offered $14,500 and he accepted. I'm not a haggler by any means. If he didn't like the offer he would have said no. Thanks
