Ive got a 02 FX4 5.4L, stock 3.55s but is lifted now with 315/75/16s (35") tires. This is turned obviously dropped my gear ratio down to about a 3.20 or so. I am debating on new gears considering the trucks tranny works much harder now and is more sluggish as you all know. Quesion...if I put a set of 4.10 gears in my truck...will it actually in turn be a higher gear ratio more around a 3.73 because of the bigger tires. And if I opt to go 4.56 gears...will it actually be more a 4.10 ratio due to the 35" tires. Does anyone have gears in a truck similar to mine, 35's with stock 3.55 gears, whats your opinions on the swap? Thanks...

 

I think that a gear swap is always a good idea if you feel you need more get up and go, and it is definatly good for the 4x4in'!
