Steering column

I live in Switzerland and own a 2000 Ranger Super Cab, 4.0, Autom. Trans

I have some strang noise in the steering collumns, I think it is the lower shaft and joint.
Is that a common problem?
could someonetell me where I could find repair manuals for that or could someone email me that please?

I can not find anything here in Switzerland, even the Ford dealsers here dont have manuals for the US Ranger, only for the European Ranger, and that is a Mazda Truck and is absolutly not the same car

Thank you

Helm Inc would have a very good service manual for that truck. I got one for my 1999 Ranger, 2001 Ranger, and for a coulple of other vehicles that I don't own or use very often. Get the Service Manual for each of your Fords. Get the Powertrain Contrrol/Emissions Diagnosis Service Manual for at least one of the years of your vehicles, you can apply the same codes to both Fords. They are in English of course. I don't know if they do translations. They do have subscriptions to electronic documents if you don't want to wait or don't want to pay for the whole manual at once. But I find them indespensible, much better than the bad advice on this site.
