Every Iowa Farmer should send me $1

I mean after all we were in the worst drought since 1988 and monday I washed the big truck and have been driving in rain everyday since, so I think it's fair that I get paid a buck from all the farmers, and people watering thier lawns since I am sure this rain will either make or save them WWWAAAAAYYYYY more than a dollar each

The wife's been doing that for a while, didn't work... Other than the soybeans, it's just a shade late to make a lot of difference, the yield is already hurt. The estimate is about 130 per acre instead of 200+. My father is a crop inspector, so that's where I get my figures...
You need to start driving near here, still haven't gotten hardly enough to settle the dust... the cracks in the dirt are over an inch wide now...

In Centerville on Wednesday the prayer meeting's focus was to bring RAIN to Southeastern Iowa/Northeastern Missouri - and we've gotten it here at least. Every freakin day. ^_^

sorry monster but you didnt cause the rain i did. I washed my big truck 3 times last week. and on thursday i polished the rims and tanks. plus all the other chrome. And i made plans ahead of time for taking the kids and their friends out to 34 raceway saturday night, and made plans to go to knoxville sunday night and the state fair monday. So as you can see all my weekend was planned for outdoors and i polished chome and alum til my arms ached and washed too. So naturally the rain and cold front moving in is my fault. And fellro is right , one of my best friends is a farmer of over 1000 acres and his projected yield has dropped from over 200 to 90 bushels an acre. He stands to lose over $130,000 this year just from his corn crop. Hopefully his beans do okay.

Ok fordlover you win they can send you the money instead, but atleast I got a couple of more posts going on the Iowa chapter. Yeah I know it's too late for most of the corn, and even some of the beans I have seen beans in Il that are already starting to turn. But anything is better than nothing what I can't believe is that with as poor as the corn crop is looking why aren't the futures prices reflecting it?

south and eastern Iowa is the main trouble, NW and North Iowa got plenty of rain most of the year... I'm right on the edge of the most severe drought area, most of upstate Illinois is in the same boat I am, in dry dock.... we got 1.8 inches total from the last storm system, and had about 1.5 from one a week or so before that, and that is all we had here since May... last spring it was raining all the time, then it totally quit...

Yea, we got 7 inches in one night on May 11. Everyone wanted it to quit raining then, and now that the most we've had since then is a half inch, we want rain. It could still help the beans, but it is too late for the corn, and you can just forget about dry land!!!!
