Hi,
I have a 97 F-150 and my passenger window has stopped operating. Is my problem in the fuse box, or is it a short. I cannot have a general discussion with local ford dealer without it costing a bundle and we are in hard times. If I knew which fuse to check or a point to start looking we could narrow down the problem and not pay for a scavenger hunt.

Check the fuse first. Next if fuse is good, does it not operate with either switch. In other words, will it go down using the passenger door switch? If it does, check the drivers switch. If it doesnt, then it will require a little more digging. Does the door locks work on the passenger side? It could be a loose connection or bad motor.

 

Thank you for getting back to me. Unfortunately I have lost my user manual and Ford will not help me. Which fuse do I need to check? I will check about the door locks on the passenger side, its late now, so will check in am. I have a feeling its the a connection or motor and if it is, what is my next step and can I do it myself?

Our truck didnt include an owners manual, I searched several sites for the information we needed especially fuse box diagram. Many gave links but were for sites that required a paid subscription, or the diagrams were for other models/years
