Torque Shift......torque converter drain?
I just completed the first main transmission service. Replaced the pan screen/filter and the cooling line filter as well. Thank God for the room to pull the pan off.........nice! I just have one question.....does the torque converter have a drain bolt? It didn't seem that it did.....the whole transmission seemed to be one sealed unit. There was a rectangle rubber plug toward the front of the torque converter housing but I have absolutely no idea what the purpose of the plug is for.
Help me guys.....do you know more than I do about my torque shift?

There is no convertor 'drain plug' any longer.. Hasn't been for years.. The access plug on the front/left of the trans/rear engine cover is for torque convertor/flex plate attachment nut access.. The fluid remaining in the TC needs to be evacuated/flushed for a complete trans service..

That would be 'converter'
You 'could' also do the 'dilution' method if no flush equipment is available to semi continuously remove the TC/pan fluid.. Although a complete flush is better (and probably cheaper/time ect.) in the long run.. You could run it to each OR every other engine oil change, and drain the fluid in the tranny pan at the same time, with a clean fill of the amount thats removed..
