One More Thing About KC:
The one thing I couldn't help but notice was the small number of imports. I saw one Mitsubishi Eclipse and NO Subaru WRXs while I was there, and those cars are a dime a dozen in NY. I did see a few BMWs, a Lexus, and an occassional Accord or Camry. But, for the most part, it was all good ol' Detroit iron. I guess that's one of the big differences between this nation's heartland and the 2 coasts. The closer you get to the ocean, the more imports you'll see, I guess.

I hadn't thought about that, but another reason is that if you live in a smaller community in Kansas you probably have at least one of the domestice auto makers locally. When you are in rural Kansas you don't buy a vehicle that you have to take 50-100+ miles to get fixed if it is your daily driver. Also there is still a lot of made in the USA loyalty even though many domestics are made elsewhere and "imports" are made in the US.
