I was thinking of dropping my 00 f150 2-3in. If you've done this what is your opinion of it after installing.Like ride and handling. What shocks are you using? I was thinking about the eibach kit but it does'nt come with shocks.I'm just looking for info b4 I lay out the cash.Would you do it again or stay stock?

I helped my son lower his 1997 F150 SC flairside a couple of years ago. He went with 2" lowered front and 4" lowered rear. The front was a piece of cake. No problems at all. The rear was a different story. The kit came with the spring hangers to replace the stock ones. The stock ones were a pill to get off. We grinded down the rivets and popped them out. It took awhile but we got it done. But the stock hangers were still stuck to the frame as if they were welded on. No amount of hammering, air chisel or whatever we could throw at it would make those suckers pop off. We put the leaf springs back on the truck and drove it to the Ford dealership the next morning to see if they could help. They told us that it would only take about 1 hour to remove the hangers and install the new hangers. After 4 hours they were still working on getting the old hangers off. By the end of the day they had finally got the old hangers off and the new hangers on. Luckily for us they were embarassed that they couldn't get them off when they said they could and we only had to pay for the hour they estimated. I thought that was incredible. The moral of the story is make sure you have plenty of time to do the job in case you have the same problems.

BTW, you may have a vibration in the driveshaft because the truck is no longer at the stock height. My son's truck did and because he had changed gears from 3.55 to 4.10 it amplified the vibration. We had every thing balanced and the proper shims put in but a slight vibration still exists. He has 20x8 American Racing Terons with Goodyear low profile tires. The truck looks good but it was a pain in the butt.

He got the kit from DJM Motorsports and also used their shocks.

Heaering about those hangers make me wonder if I should lower it with blocks instead of shackles.I've lowered my 65cc without vibrations. And I was wanting to go 2&4 on my 2000.I forgot about having to possibly add shims.I am planning onstaying with stock17in wheels &tires. To old for the rubber band look. What kind of ride and towing ability does he have with that setup

To drop a fullsize w/ blocks you will have to flip the rearend (put the axle under the leafs). The flip alone will give you 5 inches. The hangers are a real PITA. I ended up taking mine to a shop where they beat them off w/ a sledgehammer.
I've got 3in Belltech springs up front and a 4in DJM shackle/hanger kit in the back. After a couple of weeks, I pulled the overload spring out and got another inch. Rides better too. Just don't have much payload capacity. Shocks are Belltech Nitros.

Mine decreased dramatically when I removed the overload. You would lose some, because your taking away suspension travel. Don't know how much and you could always add a helper spring to get full capacity back.

ive got ground force lowering kit with is a 2 in the front and 4 in the back, it came with shocks, springs, shackles and hangers, the front was easy the back i had to grind the rivets down then melt them out of the frame, yes melt. it took a blow torch and an air hammer to get out, but after that i drove around until the springs settled and then i took a trip to orlando, with is about 4 hours drive for me. i took my dad and we both felt fine the entire way up no back pains or anything, i live in south florida and there are a lot or potholes and my truck still rides good, i have no regrets on this kit. i bought it on ebay for about $400 and i love it. as soon as i get pics of my truck im gonna post them. with the 2/4 drop i can still park all the way up over the curb and not worry about hittin the bumper.
