Bronco Bogging Down

Have a '95 Bronco, 5.0L 302, automatic, 260K miles.

Live in Las Vegas where it rarely gets below 90 during the summer, truck doesn't overheat, but if the outside temp is over about 95, it really seems to bog down and has very little power. A slightly gassy smell also comes out of the A/C when this happens. Checked for codes and have fixed all the problems, now it comes up with no codes.

Replaced speed sensor, checked fuses, replaced thermostat, replaced throttle positon sensor, replaced trans filter and fluids in the last 2 months.

Neighbor said that the "vapor canister" might be full, but he's usually so full of bulls*** I tend to discount anything he says.

Any ideas? This thing is driving my wife crazy, she wants to get rid of it, but I would like to try to fix it first.

It may sound stupid, but worth a shot, Air Filter? If really dirty, it can cause probs during warmer weather. Also the fuel filter. You said you get a gassy smell when it starts bogging down but since it is a 95, I am going to discount the float since you have EFI, unless it has been modded. Seams like it is running rich when it gets hot out. What about fuel line pressure? Check when cool and hot. Could be a pump issue.
I couldn't make a comment about the canister. My old 85 had it disconnected, but it "looked" functional for the emmisions testing people. I have not heard of the vapor canister causing probs....yet.

Since a 95 5.0 is mass air you might want to look at that-sometimes does'nt set a code for mass air- when it is bogging down- come to a stop and unplug mass air and drive again- runs good now? replace mass air unit. Also look at ACT in air filter boas well as cond of filter)Is debris on it? suggest looking at the temp reading it is sending PCM when it is bogging with NGS tester reading act pid Just some guesses here, hope it helps!!!! you might also have a clogged Cat. also do a compression test on the motor and install real mechanical oil gauge so you know what the pressure is at warm temps

I agree with Kem...also try running some Seafoam through the engine. That will bring her back to life. Let me know if you need more info on the product.
