Hawaii 01 L Recommendations
Hi everyone:
I'm a new member and I'd like to know some recommendations or comments on my 01 L that I've owned now. I'd like to know if all the modifcations that I made are safe and it would make my Lightning last longer. These are the modifications I made:
- Sillver Bullet Exhaust System
- Air Aid FIPK cone
- Superchip Microtuner
- 8 lbs motoblue lower pulley
- triple pillar gauge (EGT, BOOST, AIR/FUEL)
I'm not even sure what is my horsepower now because I have not tried it on the track yet. I'm afraid I might damage the engine. Please advise..
Also, if anyone out there who is from Hawaii I'd like to know you folks so we could do a meet somewhere like a local club..

8lb pulley, I hope you have a built block. From what I've seen a 6lb'ers overspin the eaton and just create more heat, the 8 must be much worse. From what I've found the safest pulley with the best gains is a #4. I've been looking into a #4 as well as having the eaton ported but I havent had the time, because if I do it, I will have to do it right. Now if I had the time and money i'd have the rods replaced with stronger ones (and while im in there I might as well do the pistons) then hopfuly get a Whipple or a KB.

Hi, I'm a relatively new L owner too. Mine's a 2000, black, stock as a rock. I just joined this forum, and I know there's lots of good info. here. You might want to check out another forum I belong to, with lots of tech. It's for the So Cal. Lightning Owner's Club. Go to:
