Your best bet is a bracket and pump from a 460 lincoln etc. You may need to have a pressure hose made. In the f150s the 351 setup works but wont clear the steering box in a 250/350.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-Nov-02 AT 09:10 PM (EST)]here is a thread from a couple of days ago. all of the stuff applies to the F350 as well. F150 swap info won't help you as they have a different steering box and frame design. hawkrod

Power steering pump for F-250 4x4, with 460

I've had 2 different power steering setups on my 429 in a 79 F250 4x4. First I had the set up that was used on the lincolns but it used a chevy pump and the braket was very large, heavy and look kinda funny. Then I changed it to the plastic style pump. I got the pump off a 79 302 2wd F150, but the bracket for that pump I got from L&L. This way it looks a lot better.

L&L Products makes a power steering bracket that lets you use your old pump, it comes withe the three bolts to mount it. Use your original hoses(or replace with new of same model) One VERY IMPORTANT thing to do with any motor swap(or any major component swap) is keep a record of exactly what you are using especially if you are "rigging" anything, it'll really suck to break down in the middle of nowhere, get a buddy on the phone, and then not be able to tell them what hose you need because you can't remember if it was original to your truck or sumthing you got at a u-pick yard off a 72 cadillac... By the way, I used the Hooker Super Comp Headers and found I had to rotate the electrical connection on my starter motor to prevent it foom grounding to the header creating a "no crank" situation. Good Luck!!

Good advice on the records.

The little 4x6 spiral notebooks are great for keeping track of what you modify so that you can keep it with the vehicle. I also make notes in the relevant sections of the Haynes or Chilton manuals I have for the vehicle also. I keep an "index" of the changes inside the front and back covers or on the "notes" pages. I don't usually make notes in factory manuals, they are to valuable to "deface".

Just some ideas from a guy that "nerdizes" everything.

Thanks for using FTE!

Like St Wilson said, L&L bracket works great. I used a L&L kit for my conversion, 400-->460, it came with the bracket which works very well and its cool gold anodized
