New 6.0 Motor?

Does anyone know where to get a new 6.0 motor? A complete one, not from a junkyard, I wasnt sure if only Ford sold them, if I could go to my dealership and ask them or if I could check them out online somewhere? Thanks

You can buy a 6.0 from Ford parts...a bit expensive, why do you want one?

Im thinking of puttin it in my 97 F250HD, I jus payed the truck off and I like it too much, and with the price of these new trucks, even with discounts is too much for me right now, so Im lookin to see what my options are as far as engine swaps, instead of going with a built 351w, it came witha 351w and its ok, Ive done a lot of the little bolt on stuff, no heads or intake yet-wasnt sure which way Im going with it, so I think it would be different to throw a 6.0 motor in there as a friend of mine has a new harley truck with the 6.0 and its awesome, I love the power in that thing, and my truck is smaller so Im thinking without much work it would be a big rocketship hahaha. Ill go check out my dealer and see what they say, I know the guy who works in the parts dept and Ill see how many stares I get, itll be funny, thanks

That would be an awesome swap but not an easy one. You will have to do the tranny and engine. Also the computer/wiring harness and all the sensors. You would be better off finding a wrecked truck or van that way you will have all the parts. You will also need to build new motor mounts and cross member. The Diesel is also much heavier so your front springs will need to be upgraded. I have never heard of this swap being done before but always thought it would be way cool. I also have a 94 4X4 with a 351w in it that I would like to do the same thing to. Keep us up to date on your progress.

Well as fast as these things are I am sure there are some totaled ones out there somewhere. Also you may be able to get one through International/Navistar I would think.

Have you thought about putting the 7.3 PS in it? It might be easier since that was the diesel option for that model year. It might even be a little cheaper too.

Thanks for the replies, and I have thought about swapping a 7.3 in there but I didnt think they made them anymore and I didnt know where to look for them, I did find the cummins links and I was checkin out the website as well, its expensive to do it but its being done the right way so I have no problem with spending that kinda money. And I like the motors but I dont like the way the trucks look on the outside, inside they are great but I dont like the outside but i love the way mine looks so i figured i could do a motor swap and get a lot more life out of it as there is very little to no rust on it, thanks again for all the replies.

If spending money is no problem put a 404 John Deere in it. Or a CAT or an old 2-stroke Detroit(if they made one that small) or an inline 6 Isuzu or an air cooled Deutsche or a......

I'm not sure if CAT even makes a diesel engine that would fit in a pickup. They might, look on their web site or go to a CAT dealer. As far as the I-6 404 John Deere, I've heard of guys putting them in trucks but never seen one first hand. The 404 would not be hard to find. It was used the the 4020(non-turbo), 4320 (turbo), 4430 (turbo) series tractors. I'm sure they used that engine in a few other models as well. Ask somebody that knows their stuff about tractor pulling and they can tell you all about the JD 404.
