dont clear coat it, as the primer is supposed to be rough when you paint so that the paint has somthing to grab onto. i would say leave it, but dont get it greasy or go to a hi po car wash. theres a camaro down the street flat black, and he went though the car wash the other day, and there swirls and big lines in it now.

You could clear coat it, and sand it later, but thats a lot of money to waste. Lacquer primer and urethane primers are porous and allow water to pass through. Could be bad if you have bodyfiller or baremetal under that primer. I would say sand the primer and spray a sealer or epoxy primer over it which is much better at preventing moisture through. Then later on you can either sand the epoxy and paint, or apply more primer or filler over the epoxy if needed. If you are going to paint the truck white, and probably will be painting over the epoxy primer, look for one in white which will be a nice color to paint over later with the white paint. 2 quarts should be plenty to put a good coat of epoxy on.
