Waiting On Build Date
I have had my new 06 f250 King Ranch ordered for @ 1 month now. I called my dealer today to see if he had my build date and no luck. He said that the last ordered 250 he sold was delivered in 5 weeks and he never got a build date. The truck just showed up one day. Is this a common practice for ford??? I was told 6-8 weeks for the delivery, but I am getting impatient and may end up getting something off the lot if I don't hear something soon.

efoster,
I can only tell you what I have been told, but I'm sure someone more in the know can confirm or deny it. When Ford issues a "Build Date" it's really meant to be the "Week of"... All of their build dates will be on a Monday, the start of the week for Ford. So if you have been told the 18th is your build date, it will more than likely be built from the 18th to 24th... I was told on mine it would be approx. two weeks after that to get delivered. And of course, there are variables to that. (Dually's take more time since they can only fit on certain area's of the truck, or is it they can only fit ONE on the hauler..... Something like that). Hope this helps...
