Engine Break In?
Hey all,
Since this probably applies to any new engine, I decided to place it here. I have about 850 miles on my 05 ranger with a 4.0 now. Ive kept it under 3000 rpm so far and ive been tryin to vary the speeds as much as I can. I cant seem to find a post specifically about this and im curious, should I change the oil in this engine sooner than 3000 miles? One more question, Is 1000 miles the best point to start uppin the rpm's? Thanks in advance for the help!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I've always been of the impression that, for a brand new car, the manufacturer supposedly broke the engine in before sending it to the dealership. I would expect that, if you needed to do something special to break it in, your dealer and/or warranty papers should say so.,
