Highboy power steering conversion finished--'77 F-250 Crewcab
#31
I installed mine in around 5 hours. I thought it was very easy to do. The directions and templates were very well done. I think even a "oil change on the weekend" type of guy could do it pretty easily. You will be satisfied. I looked into other methods and this is the cleanest kit I found. Actually, it is the only "kit" I found. The price is real good for what I got too.

There are a number of different ways to convert to power steering. I guess it just depends on personal preference and how much work you want to put into the modification. There are even complete kits off of E-bay that some FTE users have installed. For highboys, I have seen people use 78/9F-2504x4 box, 2wd box out of any mid 70s ford, and saginaw type box from brand X's. When I did mine, I decided to use a 78/9 F-250 4x4 box.
There are a number of pictures now on the gallery. I have some in mine, I think 74crwcb429hibPS4spd has pictures also. There is a picture in the gallery on a 76 Crewcab (utah) berfore it burned. Look at the white 76 F-250/511 gallery (wyoming). He is usng a Saginaw box I think. There is a guy from Alaska that installed PS on his crewcab too. Can't find his gallery, but I know I've seen good pictures.
I'm sure there are other pictures, these are just a few that I can remember off the top of my head.
There are a number of posts. Keep looking and reading, the information is there.
Good luck.

Hello, would you happened to have the seller on ebay?
[QUOTE=460EFIhighboy;1492356]Hey guys, I installed the kit found on Ebay about a year ago. It works well. It requires such little mods, it almost looks stock. I have 38's on my truck and it steers excellent. I do believe this is the way to go. I see 76hiboy has pics in his gallery. https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...0&albumid=8701
I am sure you will be happy with the kit if you choose this method. For those who do not want to cut, this may be for you.
There are several out there but non say for the F250, rather they say for the early Broncos.
Thanks
Mike

76 conversion
hey guys, new here and trying to find this conversion kit you speak of on Ebay. so far no joy. I've got a 1976 sitting on 44's and I really want to go away from the ram assist as im sure it will do well in helping me locate stump's rocks or anything else that will ultimately lead to it's demise.
Thanks in advance for any help on this matter
