Soon as the tech manually set it to 8501-10000 pound (read the label on the door!) it passed inspection.
Check your failed emissions slip for weight class.
Nice call, this could be the basis for the problem.

The fact that the computer reports a certain test not passed, instead of just denying that it exists in the first place

My 2000 Excursion does the exact same thing. Had a scan gauge for a few months now, won't scan because it it says o2 sensor test and o2 heater test aren't complete. I would be curious to know the procedure Ford gave to complete the tests so I can try that and see what it says.

Don't bother. You have an OBDI calibration and those monitors are calibrated out.

Another old thread brought up from the dead. 2005.

Instead of posting a search link, which will probably go away in a few hours, look here:

First link in the second post.

Your truck will never pass the O2 sensor and heater tests. It doesn't bother to even try.

As to why your ScanGauge won't do anything because those tests aren't complete, that's another problem entirely.

this is surprising since in NYS, an f-350 is over the weight class to require emissions testing. Its supposed to get the short inspection which excludes the emissions test.

I get charged 10 bucks for the annual inspection on my f-350. The emssions included fee is 35 bucks.

I have the same situation with my 2001 Excursion V10 and in California. I remember a Forum that I looked at over a year ago that stated if you had certain stickers under the hood you could go the smog stations and they could or would call to have a person certify and they would pass your Excursion!

I should have printed out the Forum as they also had a Smog Station in Norco, California that did it for the guy posting or someone who Replied!

Anyone know seen or know which forum it was!

Thanks
