I hope we get some people trying this product out. That is a fairly inexpensive upgrade if if the power gains are honest figures. Thanks for the info Rubicon and thanks to V10man for the link.

12HP is what % OF 362HP?

12HP FOR $241 is how much per HP?

12HP at 3600-4200 rpm give us what benifit?

Same exact dyno curves as all other expensive cold air kits over last 5 years.

Only thing you get for a couple of hundred dollars is louder front noise and some meager WOT gains. In other words marketing hype.

Every single one of these type filters do NOT filter properly untill "loaded" with trapped debris. Not one of them has ever posted their dyno figures once they are "properly loaded" (more restriction). Curious no? Think..... OTOH, sure are pretty aren't they?

fredvon im gonna agree with you on the 12hp at 3100 and 17ftlb torque at 4200 what benifit but i think if the intke gives more top end power it is a benefit like everyone says these v10s like to rev so lets let it rev i find mine to be a little slugggish past 72mph rpms maxed in 3rd gear 4th seems a little tallish hurting accel till it hits about 85 then it starts pulling hard still i find mine kinda pulsates as it gains rpm i have had cold air intakes in the past and i find they make the motors more responsive you wont feel 12hp though

Just a curious questions because some folks like to tout the benifits of a "cold air intake" with claims of less restriction and more resonsive throttle.

The question is what makes folks believe the factory system does not provide "cold air" ?

And other than marketing claims how do you know the Factory system is restrictive?

pull the grill off the trruck 4 5.5mm bots and 5clips just presson them and slide out only place for air to get in is a long skinny slot yes there is a hole about 3 to 4 inches in diameter made into air box but it seems it is blocked from getting air to me with an open element filter or cold air intake placed unrestricted any air ram into the system will make more horsepower to me i am thinking about cutting out a hole where the factory tube is to let in more air or maybe an airfury i dont think it would hurt to get more airflow stock to me looks quite blocked off

For years and dircectly in over a dozen posts this year we have recommended the ZooDad mod.

A true ram air system can not be safely driven in rain, ever.

Every other attempt is a compromise and will never yield any ram effect.

If you think about where the factory snorkle is and the path of air into it, jast as you described, how do you come to the notion that the air charge is some how hotter than ambient temp?

Look folks all I am saying is that for FREE the factory system is not restrictive and already gets a cold air charge. For FREE fer jimminy cricket! There is NO aftermarket filter that flows any more air than the factory paper one at cruising RPM. NONE of them ...geeeze just look at thier own dyno charts.

Your motor spends more time in one day at 1900-2200rpm then it will spend above 3200rpm all month long agrigated total.

Gonna drag race? Get one they work!

Going on a long high mountain trip with knowledge that every day you need 2nd gear and 4800rpm to pull the hill? Get one they work!

But do not delude your self that back and forth to work and grocery getting will ever use the WOT capability of the $241 pretty kit.

Their charts are a little suspect IMO. Notice how the bar graph descriptions (12HP@3100 RPM and 17ft-lbs@4000 RPM) don't match the line graphs?

I hate to sound like a dummy but shouldn't there be a line on the graph for the stock hp and tourque. just seems to be useless to me if they dont show how much better it is than stock as it goes through the rpm band. yes it is 17 ft lbs and 12 hp better at max but what about at other rpms. just seems to be missing some info for me.

thats probably because at most others it doesnt do much.. the engine can probably use more than the stock system can give at wot and at higher altitudes.

Let's see 12 HP for $241 = $20.08/HP (not bad)

Supercharger 300 HP for $4000.00 = $13.33/HP (much better)

NOS fog 340 HP for $540 = $1.59/HP (bestest)

Nothing beats Nitrous..
