My 6.0 likes hot weather
The West has been locked in a very dry heat wave lately- Many days the temps are at or above 100 and no rain in Salt Lake City in 38 days. From what I hear, Vegas and Phoenix are 10-12 degrees warmer (scorching). And my truck absolutely thrives on the high temps-
The A/C is consistantly very cold at 44-48 degrees when the overhead LOM is up to 108 and it is currently reading 18.5 average mpg including stop & go traffic. And the acceleration... keeps me wearing The 6.0 Grin

I hear ya on that one im down here in south FL and we dont have 100's but we have 100% humidity so 85 feels like over 100... Index here sometimes is over 100... and yes my truck loves it... I am getting in the 18's on the highway and little city and i have to run my AC on the lowest setting to keep from getting to cold and this is a guy who keeps his house at 68% at night and no higher then 72 in the day. So me to get cold when the over head reads 98 i know that AC is working good.. :-) im wear the same GRIN as you

The biggest SEG should be on Sunday when I hook up to the travel trailer and head south on I-15. Nothing like passing overheated brokedown cars up and over mountain passes (plus regular cars just struggling) with 10,000lb + load, 25-30psi of boost at well over 100 degrees

Much of the diesel fuel mapping is based on engine oil temp (EOT), coolant temp (ECT), and intake ait temp (IAT).
The warmer they are, the more (power) is available.
This is part of the reason why dyno runs fluctuate if you don't stabilize these temps.

My lie-o-meter pegged at 124 deg the other day when I was moving my girlfriend to Tucson from PHX. It has consistently read 114-116 for the past 3 weeks. Monsoons are here now and always impressive.
As for the AC, my black truck w/ black interior takes forever to cool down.
My tranny has reached a new high of 205 on moving day. Its running 40 degrees hotter than normal.
Remember those temps on the news are taken at the airport, in the shade!!!

Load It Up In The Heat!!!
Saturday (7-23-05) I am towing a 15,000 lb 5th wheel from Lake Havasu City back to Southern California with my 2005 F350 CC SRW LB 6.0L. I will have a full tank of gas and two adults in the truck. The truck will be at maximum load for just about every measurement (payload, GVWR, GCWR, etc). (I've already ran the numbers so please don't lecture me...). The temp is forecasted to be 109F with 30% chance of rain. The AC will be running full blast the entire 275 mile trip. I will let you know how it goes on Monday.

2003PSDF2504x4, How did the big pull go?
I did a 140 mile high elevation pull last weekend (Monday was a State Holiday) with temps mostly in the 90's and the truck performed flawlessly. Next week I'm pulling to the Big Pond (Lake Powell) where temps were 112 degrees a few days ago...
