You guys that are having problems are forgetting something all vehicles have problems some just more than other my friends with the dodges and chevy's have a lot more than anyone i know with a ford does and as far as the titian and tundra go well they spend more time at the dealership than on the road

...and for everyone of those that have had a problem, there are how many of us that haven't? I'm coming up on a year and a-half of happy owning. Heck, even my service bills are amazing to me. Dealer did both my 5K and 10K for about $40 each out-the-door.

If Ford could build it, the Mustang would be in that list I am sure.

The whole Ford family of "Fine Folks" rule in my book. When I was leaving after my 5K service the service rep smiled and wished me a good day. No charge! This was after the very best buying experience ever.

The problem with spending time in these forums is that it gives you a skewed perception that all these trucks are problematic-- since most of the threads are devoted to problems. People don't usually write about how great their truck is. People write to seek info about their truck's problems.

If you check out the Titan forums, you'll find the same thing or worse-- loads of problems.

most people will compare their F-150 with the vehicle hey had just before their Ford, at least i do.... i had a Nissan Xterra...true it's not a truck per se but i can still make some general comparisons...

i had the Xterra in exactly Once for warranty work the entire 5 years i owned it....

i am having to have work done on my F-150 just 2,500 miles into it's life! and the problems are well documented by TSB's. (limited slip "clunking" and headliner "rattle")...the thing that kills me is the TSB's cover 04 F-150's..... my trucks is a 05 and was built in May.... i would have thought Ford would have CORRECTED these "well known" problems before they left the factory.....

in any matter, i am done venting for now..... i still love the truck, i just wish after only 2,500 miles i would have to play the "waiting" and "driving" game back and forth to my Ford service department.....

You're right there! I had an '87 Ranger for seventeen years and 247,000 miles-- I never had to do anything to it but change oil, timing belt, brakes, coolant. Did have an alternator and a starter wear out on me. Most reliable vehicle I ever owned.

Still my '04 F150 is such a pleasure to drive. I've had a couple of problems-- AC leaked water into my cab, and I had a bout with the vibration, but that seemed to end when I dumped those lousy stock General tires for a good set of Bridgeston Dueler Revos. Still, I wouldn't trade it for another vehicle.

my 2004 F150 has had more problems in 9K miles than either my 2002 Suburban or even my 1999 Suburban. The brakes are a huge problem on this vehicle as noted by numerous posts on this site.

This F150 is for sale in two years when I will go back to GM.

I feel sorry for you. I had a Chevy Tahoe that was the world's biggest POS. Sold it with less than 30K miles on it after fixing numerous things that shouldn't have gone out in 100K miles. Things like alternators, fuel pumps (in the gas tank?! $400!), power mirrors, door locks, the list goes on and on. Total P. O. S.

Any vehicle buyer should know that first-year vehicles *will* have more than their fair share of problems. That's what you get for being the first kid on the block. That said, I've had exactly *1* minor issue in 15K+ miles. At this rate, I'm already waaaay ahead of that Chevy.

I think the brake warping problem is going to be the same problem that the older GM trucks had. The only way to get around it will be to buy aftermarket rotors.
