Jeep disc brakes

Will the disc off of a 79 J10 pickup fit my Dana 44 on my 73 ? I know about using 74-76 Chevrolet trucks but I found a J10 with disc.

I believe that the caliper mounting brackets are the same as the Chevrolet parts (should have the 2 3/8" allen head through bolts holding the calipers on). They did switch to a different style of caliper, but I think it was early 80's. I'm not sure about the spindles. You need to get the Dana numbers off of them and cross reference.

Thanks Jason. The calipers do have the allen head screws holding them on but on the Autozone web site it has a different part number than the Chevy ones. I haven't looked at the spindles yet.

Yes, but the Jeep conversion is the same as the Chev conversion. You use the GM (or Jeep) spindles, calipers and mounting brackets with Ford 5 lug rotors.

Nah!!! Now if you had a HP Dana 60 with disc brakes "just laying around", then yes, I would agree that you were spoiled. If you did, I may just have to make a trip up there and take it off of your hands.

The guy contemplating totaling his F350 just for the front end...
