Ive got cat-back duals with a Flowmaster 50 Series mufflers. Its pretty loud when acclerating but its not very loud when cruising at a steady speed.
All I can say is that when I pulled up to the gas pump today there was a guy gassing up his brand-new GTO next to me and the whole time he was staring at my truck.

I have a 40 series Flowmaster with dual pipes out the rear. I've been very happy with it. Just use stainless tips like I did, the chrome ones will rust after a while.

I have true duals & flowmaster 40 series. Its loud if you get on it but its not bad at highway speeds. I ran mine out the side before the rear wheels.

I had the muffler shop build me duals after the cat, it's a Flowmaster 40 with 2 1/4", I have 24" x 3" tips behind the wheels 45 degrees out the sides, the 5.4 in my van sounds different than the trucks done with Flowmaster cat backs, mine seems louder.

I got pacesetter full tube headers and a pair of flowmaster big block mufflers...a true dual exhaust...a full 3" from header to tip, no cat...nice and mellow sound...and cant get a more free flowing exhaust

I went with Gibson stainless headers and a single exit cat back system. Sounds deeper than stock at idle and nasty when you hammer on it. Makes people take notice.

Supertightexpo,
I was thinking of doing the same type of setup for mine. What kind of performance increase did you see?
