Have an 86 F150 with a 4.9L that has the feedback carb. Runs rich and backfires. Our local mechanics either don't work with carbs or just don't have the time to troubleshoot the problem. They are more trial and error...so far just mainly error. I don't want to disable all the original equipment or replace the manifold and carb...just bring it back to good running condition.

Does anyone know of a Ford expert in central Iowa that would be the right guy to tackle this kind of problem? Thanks for your help.
