I have heard(but NEVER tried) putting breaker bar against frame and bumping starter. Keep everything CLEAR!!! Might pop it loose?

!!! DANGER !!! !!! DANGER !!! DANGER Will Robinson
that might work. Sounds like a good idea to try.
BUT with my luck it would fly off break my windshield hit me in the head. I would fall out of the truck break my ankle and leg as they got hung in my clutch pedal and brake pedal. Then i would break my shoulder when i hit the ground.

LOL!!!!!!!!!
Ya, definitely keep everyone/everything CLEAR when trying. Just tap key LIGHTLY!!!!
Don't use any longer extension then needed to clear front of damper. This will keep it from dislodging and falling/getting thrown.
OR...........is it a stick shift??..........bungee the breaker bar to frame, push clutch, roll truck, bump clutch?? This might give you the need "bump" to get it loose? Without the chance of really hurting something if you use the starter. Just make sure you have it rolling right direction to loosen! Even if you need to use Reverse?
EDIT::: standard RIGHT hand threads

Since a I-6 turns backwards I would guess that ( qman) would be right or it
would loosen its self, let me say this is just my ( GUESS ) and im not sure, so
if the bolt breaks off don't send me the bill!
P.S so if you are trying the cranking loosen thing you are probably going to
really let it fly when it makes the turn to the other side of the engine?

oldbad69, before you do the starter trick, try turning it the other way. Pro-street says the I6 turns counter to the direction of a V8. If so then the threads are probably left-handed which means it's no longer lefty loosey, righty tighty. It's just the opposite. If this is right and you use the engine to do the work, you'll definitely break off the bolt. If you do that then the work will have just begun.

( My mistake! ) it is the distributor that runs backwards! I just looked in
the haynes and it rotates ( Clockwise ). So I hope you did not break the bolt!
P.S have you tryed heating the damper bolt. It may help break loose!

The 300-6 turns the same direction as any other engine in any other rear wheel drive vehicle commonly seen on the road. If it didn't, you wouldn't be able to just change the bell on a four speed and bolt it up to a 300-6 or an FE. I usually get the bolt out by bracing the breaker bar under the passenger side framerail and hitting the starter.
