quick question: do the divorced 203 and 205 transfer cases mount the same way? i am guessing they do not
if not, i'm looking to swap a 205 for a 203 in a 75 f250, what does this take?
thanks
sorry about that, i should have been more clear. i meant to say i want to swap in a 205 for a 203 meaning i will be taking out the 203 and putting in a 205.
"divorced" means that the transfer case is not mated directly to the transmission but is instead connected via a driveshaft.
no problem, if anyone knows, i still need to know if a 203 and 205 (both divorced) are mounted the same or if i will need to fabricate something and change driveshaft lengths if i do this swap (203 out/205 in)
thanks
hey thanks a lot for the great news...drive shaft lengths can remain the same too?
another question, can i put locking hubs in the 44hd front axle (closed knuckle) that's in the '75 3/4 ton?
drive shafts will work unless you lift it to the point youll need to extend it im not sure about the hub question but i dont see why you wouldnt be able to is it currently full time 4x4 and your tryin to change it to part time?
you are correct, i am going to part time from full time. i just asked about the front hubs because i've read that some full time axles were not able to be changed over. i find this hard to believe as it is not usually difficult to put a set of hubs in an axle, but i figured i'd ask for sure b/4 i start tearing into it if some of these axles (44hd closed knuckle) were unable to have locking hubs.
thanks again for your help
