46' Flathead Six Questions

I'm doing a 12v conversion on my flathead six and have some questions about it - got a rebuilt 12v generator and starter - but where do i get a 12 v coil and what should i use for the solenoid? The truck was missing a lot of parts, but I know that it used a resistor - I found one at C&G ford parts but I don't know if that works with the 12v system or not....any recommendations and explanations of this trucks electrical system would be of help too...

Your local Napa should carry a 12V selnoid, they are all the same. I would get a 12V coil and external resistor for a Mopar vehicle. A matched coil and resistor will give the proper voltage across the points. If you need a wiring diagram send me an e-mail with your e-mail address and I will send you one.

Hope this helps
