Has Anyone Use The Lunati Voodoo Series Cam

I have been researching and looking at camshafts for too long now. I think I have found the cam I want to build around. I would like to know if anyone has used any of the Lunati VooDoo Series cams? Has anyone used the cam I will mention further on? Also I would like your opinions and input, Many of you have a world of knowledge and I learn alot here.

What I'm planning on putting this in is an 86 F250 460CI 4x4 C-6 with 3:55 gears.
What I want and use it for is towing, street, and off-road use.
The cam I'm looking at is JEGS PART #638-61601LK.Specs. LIFT .535/.540, DURATION .535/.540 RPM RANGE 1000-5500 RPMs, DURATION @ .050 213/219, LSA & ICL 112/108. I'm interested in this cam because stock converters, A/C, stock valve springs will work and it is more of a cam than most RV cams, and is designed to do heavy towing.
Like to hear opinions.

This is a first, NOBODY EVEN HAS AN OPINION? Somebody must have something to say. I guess if I'm going to talk about 385 series engines I better move to "Ford big block 385 Engine Forum". I really thought you guys would have an opinion.
Thanks anyway,

I know this question didn't get much attention, so I called Lunati's tech people and when I explained what I had and what I planned to do their tech told me this cam was the best. With gas mileage a concern he told me to expect an improvement on mileage towing. Mileage now is 9.5-11 MPG empty & 6-7 MPG towing. I hope someone will get sometrhing from this.

i would at least go with a hydraulic roller cam, but if it you keep it to just a hydraulic cam you can use all of your stock vavletrain, never used a lunati cam i always stick with crane cams, so dont know what they are all about, and as far as the tech guy is concerned, well hell ya its the perfect cam for you, he dont care, i know you have done a lot of research, but maybe do a litlle more find someone with the similar truck and prospects your looking for, but it sounds like an rv cam would work for you

I'm not going to spend the money for a roller cam. When I called Lunati I gave them my requirements, and after he heard my needs he gave me a cam # which just happened to be the cam I was considering. One reason I'm really considering a Lunati is when I called Crane Cams & Crower Cams to talk with their techs I started the normal sit on the phone hold game, with Lunati which is part of Holley I received a tech right away. No hold and wait game. From my experience with Holley, I have always had positive results, anytime I have ever needed help or advise Holleys techs have always been right one with what ever my problem has been. I will talk with JEGS techs when I order my cam and see what they say.

I agree there is no sense in buying a roller cam setup that will cost in the neighborhood of $900. I haven't had the pleaure either of sitting in hold H.E. double hockey stick waiting for tech assistance with the cam companies you mentioned. I do think you are making a good choice by stiking to your original idea of where you want your engine to perform. All to often people cave in for some god awful idea that they can get more out of a bigger cam then they actually will use it for.

I put a Crane 353901 into my 77 460. I followed their instructions and put their springs and a set of their roller rockers in. I did all of the preloads just as they instructed. The thing made so much noise out of the exhaust that you couldn't stand to drive it. I put the degree wheel and dial indicator on it to check the spec's and it just didn't make any sense. I used a good Milodon double roller straight up and tried it on both retard, straight up and advanced. There was no way that I could get the durations that they spec'ed. I called Crane and got the hold routine and when I did talk to some tech he pretty much insinuated that I was an idiot. I pulled the damn thing out and put a stock cam back in and now it runs like a dragster. (Quiet too) Anybody want a hardly used Crane cam cheap?
