Calling All Supercabs
Mine's showing a little rust. I've tried a couple things to slow the rust down, but so far nothing works.
Someday, someone will show me how to take a picture of my truck and put it in my signature box on this forum.
There's a F-250 Super Cab near me.
It's been gutted, and I saw some rust around the hood area.
If your interested call Bucky at 337-462-3182. It's in DeRidder Louisiana near Lake Charles.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 21-Dec-02 AT 01:36 PM (EST)]I've got a '77 F150 w/ 2wd. The cab is in pretty rough shape, has cancer around the rain gutters, and in the floor board. The front clip is good cept a couple of dings and the bed is actually in great shape. it is a PNW truck, so it has been spared the road salts, but not moisure. I want to step up to a 4x4 crew cab when I can find one, and can affrd it.

>Scot,
>What year Frame did you find?
1978 F250
>How hard of a conversion was it?
Still in the midst of it, but not too bad so far. There is quite a bit of engineering trying to get that long engine in the bay.
>Do you have any pictures?
I have the engine mounts built, the front crossmember altered, and frame boxed and extra 18" or so. will try and get pictures and do an article.
>Can I use any year frame as long as it is a 4x4 supercab long bed 250 or 350? A 77 1/2-79 would be the same as what I am using. I talked to a guy in CA that stretched a highboy frame and made it a crewcab gasser. I did a 6.9 Navistar in a '75 F250 highboy years ago. The 6.9 is pretty gutless. Might be able to go 6bta Cummins.
>Will my 460 fit in any year? Anything will fit if you want it to.
>
>Your truck sounds nice. Where did you get your engine?
Bought it from a guy in Wisconsin. (Don Sharf?) Best bet is to find a whole truck as a donor.
>I am capable of cutting and welding the frame but I would rather
>not. I would prefer to swap frames if I can find on in my
>NY or PA area. Thanks for your help.
All I have done is to take the top 1/2 of the front crossmember off and plate over it. Then I boxed the frame back behind the cab mounts to keep from twisting it.

Hi guy's, I live in upstate N.Y. And just got done restoring a 1979 supercab 4x4 trailer special that i put a 460C.I.,C6,N.P.205. I also went with duall rear wheel's with 8"of lift.I also put a Dana 60 inplace of the hp44 front, and it has a Dana70 rear with 3:73's. The truck is just a mind blower when you look and drive it! All i have to do is find the right body person and get it painted. You can see the truck before the dually's in my gallery(supercab4x4dually).Heath
