Starting the chapter

I copied this post from Ken at the top of the section. We need to get going if we want a FTE NC Chapter. I volunteered to moderate this forum a while back, to keep the floors clean. I started NCFTO 3 years ago and it would be a conflict for me to lead both groups. NCFTO was started to be a regional group of like minded folks, and never be in conflict with FTE in any way.

A new leader needs to rise and take the reins for the future.

John

As part of the effort to get the Chapter process moving so I can introduce Chapter features....

1. Every Chapter that has already elected a leader needs to contact me with the leader's user id.
2. Chapters which have not yet elected a leader need to do so by May 15th. 3. Chapters with a leader need to setup their first offline meeting to take place before June 1st. See https://www.ford-trucks.com/chapters.php for details. The meeting schedule after that is entirely up to the chapter.

Chapters without a leader by June 1st will be closed until someone steps forward to handle it.

If you are in need of FTE logo artwork for your Chapter let me know and I'll email a high-resolution image file. Per the Chapter guidelines, Chapters may use the FTE logo and domains in unmodified form with prior approval from FTE for each project. If your Chapter has banners, cards, etc., planned or completed please send me an image of it for final approval.

What's involved in getting this thing going? The vote dead line looms awful close, especially if a face to face is required.

Yes I did. That's what prompted my post. I guess I should have posed it as a question, is there an off-line meeting pending or are we not to that point yet?

It seems that there are more members in the middle of the state than here in the western part. Would it not be better to have a meeting where the most could attend. I have had some pretty major knee surgeries and it will be awhile before I am able to get around much but I would try to attend a meeting if we can get 1 organized.

From those posting I'd say your right. The I 40-85 area would probably work. Somebody post one of those poll things and see how many would consider attending and at what distance. My freshman status represents more than my number of posts.

The first thing is to get folks together (ya gotta have members) and select a leader, then have a meeting.

For the record:

I have been a FTE daily user for several years, and a moderator for a while, trying to help keep FTE the site that attracted me. Aprox. three years ago I started NCFTO to be social group of NC resident Ford truck owners helping fellow members with projects and other things.

This new FTE endevor here seems to be somewhat along the same lines and I don't want to cause any conflict of interest, so I will not seek any leadership role after helping get the group started. I do plan on keeping my seat on the FTE porch and offering technical help to anyone that I can.

FYI,

Current Chapter moderators will have first dibs on any open moderation slots. We have several open now.

John... any interest?

I'll join if it gets going, but I can't lead it because I'm starting college in the fall and won't have time to take on much other than class work.
