Assuming a V6...
This is from the 97 EVTM, don't have a 98. Hope the circuits are the same.
Check the R/LG wire at the coil connector (START or RUN).
No voltage, suspect F30 in the underhood fusebox or the ignition switch.
If battery voltage is present, check fuse F1, small fusebox on inside fenderwell. It supplies operating power to the PCM.
