Talking thanks mtflat!

Met Tim a bit over a week ago and he gave me what appears to be a rebuildable '71 400 long block with original flattop pistons.

Very Nice man- thanks Tim- I'll keep you up to date as to what the machine shop says!!

You're welcome! It was a long week - good, but long. I didn't realize the 400 was gone until I got your email Hope you can make something good happen with it. I'm sure your daughter will be happy to have her truck back on the road.

....and like all the other guys I've met from FTE, Roger is a good guy. It was a pleasure to visit with him and talk over not only Ford trucks, but bow hunting and other common interests.

I'd have to 2nd the "very nice man" thing. Actually, he must have an excellent Wife also.

Won't devulge what he (they) did for me, but it had to do with their vacation and taking the time out to think of me. Too bad we're so far away. I'd love to meet Mtflat and the Mrs.

He IS one heck of a guy! Matter of fact, we passed each other today and I didn't even recognize the old blue beast until he was just zippin by me. Sorry, my friend, but as you passed I went," Oh dang!! He probably thinks I'm being stuck up!!"

I owe ya two big howdies and a wave or two next time. Your truck really sounded NICE as you cruised by. Them old flatheads really sound good!

Thanks for the kind words, but the simple truth is - God has blessed me in so many ways that it wouldn't be right if I didn't pass along his goodness to others. It is especially enjoyable to help out friends like you all.

Carlene, you and Steve need a vacation in the Glacier Park area don't you? Florida is nice, but............. and yes, Marla is a 'keeper'. She's put up with me for 31 years. It would be fun to meet you guys sometime.

Dick, I must confess I didn't see you....so you're off the hook. There are a few red Fords around town and sometimes I get lazy and quit watching. Or more often it's just a case of tunnel vision. Sorry I missed you.

I've driven the flathead enough that the f'glass is pretty much blown out of the Smitty's - just about straight pipes. Idling, it has that blub, blub, blub sound, but really wakes up when I stand on it. Then I grin like a big kid - ah, the simple joys in life are the best!
