I'm new to the forum and have a quick question. Anybody know where I may be able to find a tubular chrome grille guard for a 76 F-250 4x4. I want one that bolts to the frame and NOT the bumper. I'm trying to avoid having to modify the front bumper (drill holes etc) if I can help it. Any info or help would be greatly appreciated. I've heard that Luvernes out of South Dakota may be able to help, but if anybody else knows of another place to get them that'd be cool too. Thanks.

i saw one on that link but it was for 78-79 ford trucks. would this work on a 73-77??? i too am interested in one for my 75 but havne found one specificly for my year, just the 78-79 year. i thought all the bumpers mounted the same on all the 70s ford f-series trucks.

I would check your salvage yards for a grille guard. I know I have seen at least one or two in good shape....... All that I have seen mount using the existing bumper bolts, so you don't have to drill anything. As far as differences between 73-77 and 78-79 - I thought they were all the same, but again, go to a salvage yard, or just look for a 79 (distinguishable b/c of its square headlights mounted above the turnsignals) in a parking lot and quickly compare it to yours while trying to avoid looking suspicious.

Sorry Ben, but the RECTANGULAR were standard equipment on 78 Ranger's F-150's.
In fact,the only 78's that had round headlight's were the Custom's.
So, 78's & 79's + have rectangular headlights.

The bumpers do mount the same, but the bumpers are different shapes. The 73-77 have a different shape than the 78-79. If the guard is only made for the 78-79, then just get a 78-79 bumper too.
