Revisiting the no power on take off issue!
Several weeks ago I posted a thread about lack of acceleration for 3 to 4 seconds from a dead stop . Merging into oncoming traffic is next to nothing for several seconds then it seems to take off normally. Several posters attributed it to Turbo lag but the safety issue makes me wonder if Ford would allow all of these trucks to put them into such a risk of liability. I planned to take it in but wanted more comments on what the problem could be and if it is indeed Turbo Lag what can be done to correct it aside from chipping..comments appreciated.

I would have to drive your truck to determine if it has lag. If this is your first diesel you might confuse the issue. I burn out in the drive with my wifes gas vehicle since I am used to having a heavier foot.
To actually answer your question it would be a hands on situation, I am not saying you do not have a lag problem. Hard to answer from a keyboard.

Our '05 is worse than our '04 with lack of power on takeoff. Both of them in my case are turbo lag. You can see it and feel it right at 2200 RPM's all of a sudden they take off.
Looks like I better find a good technician, because the first one said nothing out of the ordinary. Pulling a trailer, the '05 is terrible.
