Any way...$79 each fronts, $65 each rears + labor I was quoted at $385 out the door. Now if it just weren't for that dang buttinski HughD giving me doubts about harshness, I could run over and get me some . Still fairly high priced, but not WAY out of line like I was seeing before.

Chris Adams, I did ALL the legwork here. Go get some installed and let me know what you think. You are allowed to participate, ya know

Actually I am gonna go see this guy tomorrow and see if I can verify his part numbers, cuz these prices sound suspiciously like proces I was previously mis-quoted for the Heritage 150
Doesn't sound too bad, but this week I am playing Computer Tech, just until a friend gets her client backlog cleared out, and won't have time to run down into the valley. I might after this clears out.
(Hey, I just found out I still remember dos batch programming. I guess I'm not senile yet.)

just trying to put a burr under his butt and get him to do something, ANYTHING, other than sit here and post!!

Chris - trust me, it's the dos batch that's making you senile.
Signed, a die-hard Mac puke

BTW - think I am gonna take one for the team and buy a set of the rears and put them on myself. I am wondering about HughD's comment on stiffness though. I really wonder if it matter what config the truck's suspension is in. I noticed that since I lowered my rear by 2" that the truck is MUCH more "planted". With the rake it always seemed like the front plowed into a bump and then the back was ready to hop over it. Now it seems more like the front and rear tires attack the bump in the same manner and my rear jiggles are greatly subdued. I'll let ya'll know.
Gonna check in with PepBoys for the purchase...they just quoted me $49.95 each for the rears. We'll see.

Got a Mac in my computer room, holding the door open...
Actually it's a Starmax or something, built by Motorola, uses Mac software. Mac told them they could do it, then reneged when they built a better machine.

Mostly got Linux boxes, but I use NTPro for gaming. But I hadn't used Dos in a long time. Helping a lady out and she had a bunch of nit work to do. Got to use my truck to bring home a couple dozen systems. Should have shot a picture of it. Twenty three cases fit in the back, with the tonneau down. Maybe that should be in the deep bed thread. Mostly finished, but I'm still mucking with some laptops.

Please do let us know if you get the shocks. I'm interested, and after this seat/console/cover thing, that's the next on my list.
Chris

Hi Guys,

Sorry about creating doubts about stiffness with Reflex shocks. Remember these were used on a new style Silverado, not a Ford. They worker great cross country with a Yamaha Grizzly in the bed, especially when encountering dips at speed. Just had the harsh 'jouncy' condition unloaded. What I wanted them to do was use that so-called 'reflex action' to soften the initial impact but that didn't happen for me. Hope this helps.

Best regards,
HughD

well, we're almost there! PepBoys has the rear Reflex's, or at least they will in a week or so , for $55 each.
Went ahead and ordered. I figured I am pretty safe since my buddy has an '04 and will buy them off me if I don't like them, at least if I find them too stiff or harsh. He drives around with about 300 lb of tools all the time, so it should work out if that's the case.

I'll let you know when they are installed and what I think. But for now, on the the Porterfield front brake pads. I guess this should kill an hour or so...

Have you seen any place that has Edelbrock shocks front or rear for the new body?
For the two wheel drive I only see Rancho sold as two brands, and Bilsteins.
No Koni, KYB, Edelbrock.
At least at the dozen or three places I have checked.
Edelbrock shocks are pretty good for what I am looking for.

I agree KevinM - Edelbrock is where I was initially heading. But so far they have not come out with the IAS Performers for the new F150's. And no one at Edelbrock is claiming any knowledge as to their development. I would have to assume they will come out with them eventually, but I still find it odd that not only is there no projected release date, but no one on the front lines has ANY info, one way or t'other.

Had Edelbrock's before and I really did like them for street use...

Got a URL to that location, or a part number? Don't see it in their listings, they stop at 2003.
Must be pretty well hid on there.
Thanks

Yeah, that's what I mean. I always call the Heritage a 2003 just because it's so dang confusing. Ford did us no favor by keeping that truck alive one more year, at least as far as parts for the rest of eternity.
No offense to the H owners, but I wish they had called it a 2003 and a half or something.
