Jon Henry is starting off with a positive reputation.
Question water pump (grease fit'g??)

'36 85HP~ There appears to be a brass grease fit'g on ea. water pump. Some times the left one leaks, (squirts), coolant after it's warmed up. I bought new ones and noticed they don't have any insides, like a little ball and spring to stop backwash! What's up??? Tks~JH

Yes, 36 wp's have grease fittings. I can't tell you about new ones, but originals have bushings and felt seals that weep normally.

I'm not sure what you're looking at for ball/spring? I can't see anything on mine except for the impeller on the backside.
