Talking Me & Grover and a Mess of Boy Scouts are Going Camping

Grover's all loaded up with camping gear, and tomorrow morning I'm headed for Camp McKee, here in the Heart o' the Bluegrass where I'll be spending the week with Troop 196, Paris, Kentucky.

I'm their Scoutmaster, so I gotta go.

This will be the second time I've had the truck out with the Scouts. If you don't hear from me in a week, send help!

Don -

I still have very fond memories of such Scouting outings. A week in the woods sounds way cool. My old scoutmaster didn't have a cool truck, though. I think he drove a Hudson.

I'm guessing that after a week those boys will get some new badges;
but they will have to make up some new catagories that relate to trucks

That sounds like an great time. I did it a couple of times years ago with my 71 F-150. Even then, it was a trial to keep that thing running enough to get there and back. We'll keep the rescue patrol on standby.

Its one of the very best things to do with an effie! I've had the '55 on about ten different trips. Hauls well and has great ground clearance with the stock rims & tires.

Only thing I never figured out was why the boys always liked to sit on the fenders, hood and even the roof. Not the other vehicles leaders brought in, just the old truck. (I didnt really mind much, it was pre-newpaint).

Guess its kinda like kids laying up against a big old fuzzy dog.
