Air induction on 2005 F150 5.4
Hey guys,
What do you guys think about the different air intakes for the new 5.4 3v trucks??
I just purchased a 2005 F150 SCREW 4x2 Lariat with the 5.4L...
I see K&N, Airaid, Volant all make air inductions for the truck...what are the pros/cons of each???
Thanks,
Paul

Paul, Chris Adams is right about Volant. My Volant came missing a bunch of parts and the company will not respond back to your messages. The person that answers the phone is programmed to tell you someone will call you back and that never happens.Anyway, after I went to the hardware and bought parts to get mine on, it is loud.I will keep it on but I think there may be better choices.Good Luck!

Just bought and installed a K&N series 77 cold air intake on my 5.4L 3V last friday. The intake has made the truck considerably louder when the engine is using torque. A very clean intake that really opened up the engine compartment. So far I haven't noticed much of a mileage difference but that probably has more to do with me flooring the pedal all weekend. Truck has a noticable power increase after the mod. Overall install was a breeze and shouldn't be a problem for any novice wrench. Now all I need is a new exhast and the truck would roar! I'd recommend the K&N but haven't actually seen any of the other products installed on a 5.4L. Picked up the kit for about $250 online, there was about three different retailers offering them at this price.
