i have a 97 ford f150 v6 4.2,it had 215000 mile onit and would rev up and down at idle .also every time i slowed or stoped it would shut down or when i steped on the gas it spuder for a second until i got above 1500-2000 rpms.Last month i went to start it up and smoked out the nieberhood. great morning that was.so i broke down and got another motor $2800 installed.it still does the same thing.Does any body have any ideas? much appreciated

 

Just curious, did you check to see if it was the motor before you replaced it? (lol, sounds like a dumb question doesn't it!)

It may have been the dreaded engine lock you experienced.

 

Did you use all the sensors from your old engine?

 

i dont know i just got a new motor and instalation 3000. should have come with a new set of tires
